The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligibility for federal student aid and for many state aid programs is determined by completing the FAFSA. Students and parents must complete the free application to be eligible for federal student loans or other types of federal financial assistance. Click on http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ for the electronic version of the FAFSA, and visit an EFC member for assistance.
- New in 2007, the U.S. Department of Education introduced the FAFSA4caster. By using FAFSA4caster, you and your family will receive an early estimate of eligibility for federal student aid. This Web site provides you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge of the financial aid process; become familiar with the various types of federal student aid that are available; and investigate other sources of aid, such as grants and scholarships. National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) for students: The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for student aid. NSLDS Student Access provides a centralized, integrated view of Title IV loans and Pell grants so that recipients of Title IV Aid can access and inquire about their Title IV loans and/or Pell grant data.
